Marion, from Busworks, very kindly allowed us to take over the wall space to hang six recent pieces. The large areas of white brickwork are ideal for showing off the type of work that Irma does and it was decided early on to hang everything unframed. This helps integrate the art with the surroundings, the extra white around the pieces allows them additional breathing space, and it also makes it easier to engage with the work and to appreciate the texture of the paper pulp.
She’ll be at United House on Tuesday 17th August 2010, 4.30 – 6.00pm for a private view. Come for a drink and a chat – last chance before she disappears for a while to work on some new large-scale works.
Thanks also to Decoder’s Ailbhe and Mark, who work in the building, for organizing the initial introductions.
